This internationally known German soap manufacturing facility in an industrial city to the southwest of Mexico City was  undergoing a major expansion and reorganization of its facilities.  In addition to upgrading the production line, they were looking to combine administration and employee facilities that had been scattered around the facility.  They asked us to design these administrative and employee spaces:  An entry lobby where employees and guests enter the facility, administrative office spaces, offices for the Research & Development department, and an employee cafeteria.

The main idea behind the design of the spaces was to give the employees warm and interesting spaces in which to work, that imbued a sense of pride and identification with the products produced at this particular plant, and to break down some of the hierarchies dictated by the parent corporation in Germany.  In addition, recycled and local/traditional material were intended for incorporation, but in novel ways.
